So, today, Thursday, Jason (Patichi) and I set off to Florida. We are headed to Eastern Academy of Scuba Education (EASE) in Vero Beach, Fl.. He is going for his Instructor Development Course (IDC) and the Instructor Exam (IE) that follows. I am staffing it, meaning, I hope, that I get to assist in the teaching of the classes. Since I have never staffed one with EASE, I may not get to do a lot. That is okay, it will be a good experience either way. Carl is already there working on becoming and IDC Staff Instructor. Here is some of what he sent back on his initial report: We are in a small room with 6 people,3 bunk beds, 12 of us will be sharing a bathroom. There is a pool on site and we have a care taker who will be cooking us dinner each night. And the best thing is the pool is always open. Everyone who just finished here is leaving today and tomorrow and they are all raving how nice everyone is and how they will be back. It feels good, like a home.
I will try to blog each night. I will not write in great detail but enough for those who are interested to get an idea of what to expect and those who have done it, well, I hope it brings back memories of those days.
