For dive centers, there is no better way to recruit new students and customers than conducting regular Discover Scuba Diving courses. Here’s an idea that will breath new life into an old course.
Instead of a normal Discover Scuba Diving course, promote it as a "date night" in your local area. There are not many exciting date night options for couples. Dinner and a movie is just boring and will not be remembered a year later. Offer something fun, different and memorable to dating singles and married couples.
Promote a regular event, say twice a month, in a local singles paper or website. Offer discounts to singles groups and clubs. See if you can work out some kind of promotional deal with the most popular "date night" places to eat. And turn "dinner and a movie"...into "dinner and diving".
Don’t forget to wait the standard 2 - 3 days before contacting your dating divers, you don’t want to seem too desperate :) Send them an email, or get on the phone and call them, and offer them a chance to join a future course.
Also, you could probably get away with charging more than normal for a Discover Scuba Diving course if you market it this way. Maybe you could throw in some extra "date night" bonuses like underwater pictures or a cute manatee stuffed animal.
Get creative and have fun with it!
