SDBR - 25 days 6 hours ago.
If you have an interest in determining what the ocean water temp. is where you may be going diving, N.O.A.A. has a website you can explore. It’s NOAA National Data Buoy Center. When you go to that website, you will see a map of the globe, along with many, many, many, red and yellow triangles. Enlarge the image for the area you want to check and click on one of the yellow triangles. Many of those buoys give the water temp., along with other information....

Attention Dive Shops: Do Not Fear the Internet
Some dive shops get it. Most do not. Rather than fear the Internet, bend it to your will and use it to grow your business and make divers happy. Accept the fact that modern scuba divers research and shop online for gear, travel and training. So put yourself out there! Get involved with social networks. DiveBuddy is here for you, so rather than just using Facebook or Twitter, make sure to have a presence where scuba divers are. Divers don’t go to Facebook to find new dive sites. Divers don’t use ...

Dolphin Tale Family Movie
Our family watched Dolphin Tale a few nights ago and it was a great movie that all of us would highly recommend. It happens to be a true story. Diving with an iPhone?
Well, it happened. In the midst of the predive excitement and suiting up on the boat, I forgot to take my iPhone 3G out of my swim suit pocket. It was a cold dive to 60 feet in Lake Michigan. Although I was wearing a "semi-dry" wet suit, my phone was not protected from water or pressure. After surfacing and discovering the rectangular lump under my suit I wriggled it out to see that it was pretty water logged. The camera lens was filled with water droplets and the phone had powered down (or shor...
