I watched most of it. Pretty interesting. Can’t believe how much weight they put on him.

There’s actually an event where you can dive all different sorts of vintage/commercial diving equipment. It takes place twice a year at Dutch Springs in PA. I have yet to get to it but want to. Here’s a link to the website for it. Seems pretty interesting!

Actually once you’re in the water with the MK V Deep Sea Diving dress it’s pretty comfortable.

I trained on these when I went to commercial diving school. The whole suit weighs 198lbs plus your own weight. Out of the water it is not easy to move around and climbing a ladder is damn near impossible unless you start the clime while you are still underwater and basically get a running start before you break the surface. Once you get used to it in the water you feel invincible.

Same here, MK V was pretty good suit. My Dad was a Navy diver from the late 40’s to the early 60’s and he only weighed 130 lbs and he’s still kicking around today. It was a pretty impressive rig. I ended up using Miller 400 for my last commercial job.
