In case anyone is interested...

This guy is selling a couple Aluminum tanks and giving a bunch of other atuff with it, including a wetsuit and a drysuit. Great deal for a guy thats 5’ 6" or an OK deal for someone that just wants the tanks.

What are your thoughts on buying a used tank from Craigslist? I’ve definitely seen some good prices out there and being the last piece of essential equipment I need to purchase I’ve been eyeing them keenly. I understand the tanks need to be tested annually right? Does it sort of go without saying that I should request to see the testing certificate for the tank?

You need a visual inspection every year, and a hydro check every five years. My understanding (I’ve never owned a tank) is that runs around $15 for the visual and $45 for the hydro (they come back fully charged).

Do the math to see if its best to own or rent.
