Night Diving Briefings

I am a Divemaster Candidate. One of the requirements is to do a Night Dive Briefing (either shore or boat). I know some acronyms:

S Site Survey

T Tides and Currents

V Visibility

N Natural Hazards

E Entries

W Weather

S Suiting Up

M Manmade Hazards

E Exits

N Never Do’s

E Emergencies

A Activity

B Buoyancy

A Air

G Gear Up

I use these for regular briefings. I know there is a lot more to a Night Dive and I wanted to know if anyone had a good acronym to cover those things.

This is what I use...

G - Goals - What do you want to do? Whats the plan?
U - Unified Team - Who does what? what order?
E - Equipment

E - Exposure - What is the depth and time of the dive?
D - Deco - Depth and time will give you deco. What is the deco strategy?
G - Gas - Gas usage Strategy. All usable? Halvesies? Thirds?
E - Environment - Anything to watch out for or might change the dive plan.

Thank-you Beth. It worked for my Night Brief. Ken

This is a good acronym also, but more than what I needed for a non-technical dive. I printed it out for when I go Tech. Ken
