Night Dive at Blue Grotto, FL - Wed. Aug. 6th, 2014

Kurt, one of the owners of Blue Grotto has offered my group a great "one time only" offer what we ought not pass up. Therefore, the originally scheduled night dive for Devil’s Den, may well be changing to Blue Grotto.

As is, for the DD dive, we’d need a minimum of 10 absolutely confirmed divers to make it go. So far there are only 4 of us, myself included, with 10 pending.

At Blue Grotto, Kurt will let us dive with only 6 of us, myself included. Typically the night rates are the same as the day rates, however, the special offer will let us dive at $15. + tax, each. So...who wants to join this new night dive? It will still be on Wed. Aug. 6th. I think we can arrive anytime after 5:30, as that is when the day groups will be out of there, and the night rates kick in for others.

Anybody and everybody reading this, is welcome. They have full gear available for rent. If you call, be sure to mention that you are with Sandy’s Night Dive Group, scheduled for Wed. Aug. 6th. Their number is: (352) 528-5770. Be sure to PM me too, so I can add your name to the list. :-)

Thanks Rod. I’m told that in a few weeks, as the days continue to get shorter, 7 pm would be a good time for us to meet at Blue Grotto. I would reckon that by the time forms are filled out (best to print one off their website ahead of time, and watch the video (all newbies to the site), and we all meet, greet and set the dive plan, it will be more like 7:45 or so before we get into the water.

Here is the link to print out the waiver, that everybody will give to me once we get there, along with $16.05 (15 + 1.05 tax). Tank and gear rentals will be done by each individual separately.

I have all my gear except my wetsuit and maybe a dive torch. Which makes me nervous, as I am a fat gy 290lbs. I also game my own tank (AL80) but if we’re doing 2 or 3 dives I’ll have to rent additional tanks.

Rodrigo, as the night dives go, it’s a one tank dive. The hours will be between 6-9. Most will be there by around 7, however, I’m going to try diving in a new 5mm wetsuit, so I’m getting there early to test it before our dive.

If you need a wetsuit, be sure to let me know what size so that I can have the day crew set it aside. Plus, if you need to rent a light, let me know that as well. Gear rental prices can be viewed on this link.

Call them to verify pricing, mentioning Sandy’s group, as I know that they will be reducing some prices this month.

Meanwhile, anybody reading this post is welcome to join us.
