I am considering got to Coz for the first time (first dive trip). I’ve started looking at all the different travel agencies. Its a bit overwhelming the amount of info and so many numbers. Is there any agencies better than others? I have looked at Island Dreams, Maduro, Cardonna, and another the name is skipping me right now. Any one have any preference over the others or is there a better way to book it instead of booking everything through them. I am thinking all inclusive is the way to go being its the first time?

I’ve been to Coz a half dozen times but never used a travel agency however twice was with SingleDivers.com and she, wreckwench here on DB used the two resorts listed above. Both are good with dive ops on site and both have beach entries available which are okay for testing skills but you won’t see much. at both we went for the meal package but only ate breakfast and lunch there because they were handy. We had dinner in town.

chuchodivers.com/ who is a member here on DB is good, runs a 6 pack so you have more choice in where you dive and can suggest a place for you to stay and they pick you up.

Blue XTsea is another good op with a 6 pack and I know she works with a bed and breakfast.

The taxi’s in Coz are cheap but be aware the price shown is for the taxi, not per person, so when he says $5 don’t everyone hand him $5

Ive been 3 or 4 times, the last time was the best and i stayed at Iberostar it has a dive shop onsite (Dressel Divers) and most of the sites are within 10 min. You can purchase a complete set of dives online before you go and you get like 6 free dives dresseldivers.com/ and they have free Nitrox
when are you going?

I went twice and stayed at The Reef Club. A very nice all inclusive resort with their own dive shop and boats on site.

Hotel Plaza Cozumel (around $40/night) roof pool, walking distance to all downtown, includes breakfast. I use Chili Charters, small dive op that picks up at the Aqua Safari Pier right downtown (~8 min walk from hotel), great family owned very personal company. Priced right on par with the bigger ops, for the most part you can pick where you want to dive. Highly recommend.
