Anyone in the area and interested in a dive near Savannah, GA between this Saturday - Tuesday? I see some interesting dive sites, though no past dives in the area. Wife doesn’t dive and would love to get a few dives in while there!

Hummmm, dive or work..... I may be able to meet n dive Monday morning. Are you looking at walk ins or a charter boat? I live in Jacksonville, 2 hours south. Need to be home around 3-5 pm

Unable to respond before leaving on trip. Here’s some info to share for anyone considering the area:

I spoke with a very nice lady, Vicky, at the Diving Locker Ski Chalet in Savannah, GA. They’ve been there for 20+ years so the info seems reliable. She said visibility was not good for shore diving. They have some good reefs, wrecks, etc... except they are 20 miles out. All of the dive charters have left the area. They’ve found it less expensive to take their divers to Florida. Too bad for us local to GA (that don’t have a private boat).

She referred me to Judy at the Island Dive Center on St Simons Island. They were also nice and helpful. They have a full boat on Monday for 5 and really only run based on weather and interest, 3-4 this year so far. I left my info for contact in case anything changes.

This weekend didn’t happen unfortunately. I’ll keep looking and post/contact for another time in the near future.
