Hey Lisa, for something near home and easy, we go outside bathtub beach North of the inlet or Peck Lake to the South. If you’ve never been, it really is pretty cool. Sealife beginning to return, although we didn’t get any lobsters this year. We like it mostly because it’s right here instead of trailering down South.

Hey Lisa, how was your blue heron dive? That’s basically my back yard but I’ve never gone to dive it!

It’s a perfect shore dive about a half hour before through a half hour after high tide. Everytime there seems to be different sea life to enjoy. It can be congesteded with plenty of other divers. Plus, a lot of dive instructors use it for classes. I think it only gets to 16 feet in depth or around there. Under the bridge is pretty cool. If you go, bring a flashlight. I am still a novice when it comes to identifying sea life. Last dive there I saw a snake eel?? a baby or very small Moray eel, sheep head and tons of coral fish. There is a dive shop on the other side of the bridge that is very friendly and knowledgeable. It’s called Force E they can give you loads of information about whats there and an underwater map. You are really missing out because you say its in your back yard and its a FREE dive. I waas also tole several times the BHB is considered one of the top ten shore dive sites in the world. A word of caution sometimes keep an out out for Jellys and don’t use your regulator until outside the red buoys. Happy Diving :)

Looking for a dive buddy for treasure coast area. I have been certified since 2002, but rarely get a chance to dive. Last dive was a few weeks back at the Blue Heron Bridge in West Palm Beach. A few weeks prior went out on a boat off west palm. Before these couple of dives hadn’t been in 6 years. I consider myself a natural, but not very good at towing a flag or underwater navigation. Looking to dive more often since its such an amazing time and experience.
