Always looking for more dive buddies. Beginner photographer. Recently got into bug hunting a little.  Sometimes go kayak diving.  I try to dive every two weeks, preferably on Sunday mornings. Open to an occasional week-day dive if the work schedule permits. Try to make a boat trip every couple months to Catalina or Channel Islands. Otherwise I’m an avid shore diver. Frequent Laguna and Palos Verdes (favorite spot is Old Marineland in Rancho Palos Verdes), but willing to dive anywhere.

I participate with and help organize a couple local groups totaling 300+ buddies to dive with now, and typically get 3-8 of them to show up on any given date. Thanks to this site, we’ve become a dive club without meetings or dues....just diving. I’ve usually got a charter booked a couple months out and one or two weekends pre-picked for shore dives, and the group votes on the dive site based on the current conditions. It’s often difficult to find someone who is consistently available, so I’m always looking for more friends to join me.

Order carefully. You can order different thickness neoprene and any color combination you want for custom. I didn’t want the bright colors and needed 7mil thickness for warmth, so I went custom. Can’t remember the cost. But well worth it. I’ve had mine for three years now and 150 dives and like new condition still.

i truly love that .. its a kick ass look
Rich-D-Fish - 3/06/2013 11:26 AM
It gets you a lot of fun looks on shore, and your buddy can always tell you apart from the rest.

And Terrapin is located in Texas so that makes them even more cool!

Only the name of the certification shows up in your profile, do you think I should start showing the cert number also?  The cert number is currently only available to you in the Edit Certification section.

Rich,
What type of pole did you get for Christmas for your GoPro?  Let me know what you think after you get some dives on it.  I have been using a PVC makeshift one that works great but want something a little more versatile.
Rich-D-Fish - 12/28/2012 9:26 AM
Here is the product on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003Z4YLAI/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00 I went for a cheap $12 version because I have seen how quickly the telescopic poles get jammed up with salt deposits and sand particles and stop working. Didn’t want to invest too much. I might go out with it on New Years morning. Will let you know.

Hey everyone.  I used the dive log for the first time and it’s simple and great.  Plus you can easily add your divebuddies from a pull down list.  You should all try it!  Maybe I’ll start to log my dives again....

Thanks to Edgar, Fernando and new buddy Tony for a great dive this morning at Old Marineland.  I got to hold a baby horn shark in my hand, see a first ever blue shark (I believe based on pointy snout) about 3’ long, giant sheep crab, and the regular host of critters.
