Hey Chuck, I`ve never spearfished in freshwater. I want to one day though if I can find somewhere nearby that allows it. My uncle bought one of those spear poles, not a gun. You put the band around your elbow and the spear shoots foward about a foot or two when you release...it`s pretty neat.
