Info: the P31 was a minesweeper named Pasewalk (GS05) when built by the East Germans before reunification. Sold to the Maltese in 1992 and renamed 31, being used as a patrol boat. This artificial reef is the sistership to the P29 in Cirkewwa. Later bought and decommissioned in 2004, then sunk in 2009. The wreck lies upright in white sand off camino in a depth of 22-meters (72-feet). The site is known for its clear waters, and it’s one of the best artificial reefs for OWD in Malta.

Dive: last time of the trip and had to keep it short, I needed to be out of the water by 13:30 to give myself an estimated 16:30 hours of desat time, actually ended up with 15 minutes of spare unsaturated time before my flight took off at 05:55. Swam the Rex interior but was quickly bored since it’s the same as P29. Twelfth dive of the trip, and ended with 10-hours and 39-minutes of total bottom time on Malta. Great vacation.
