This site is the lake in the center of the racetrack. The reason for the lake, was so the casino could be placed on a hill. The fill for the hill was taken from the area of the lake. One day, the workers noticed that the soil was moist at the end of the day’s work. They came back the next morning to find the lake filled. The water table is very shallow in this area.
