Beta testers wanted (iphone, blackberry, android users)

Category: Web Site Help
Replies: 38

Anyone with an iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Android or other mobile device with a web browser care to help me beta test a new simple web app I’m working on? I’m in the design/format stage and I want to make it look right for the most popular web devices.

If you’re interested post a reply here and I’ll send you the link to test. If I get enough people to help test, I’ll create a club and manage the development that way.

Thanks,

Greg Davis

DiveBuddy Mobile is ready for official testing. From any web enabled mobile phone, navigate to: http://www.divebuddy.com/mobile

Here’s what you can do in the mobile version:

1. Comments:

a. Post comments on member profiles, photos and dive sites.

b. Mark new comments as read (saved as public).

b. View all comments sent to you.

c. Search through all comments sent to you.

d. Delete comments sent to you.

2. Profile:

a. View your mobile profile.

b. View member mobile profiles.

3. Buddy List:

a. View members on your buddy list.

b. Search through members on your buddy list.

c. Sort by First Name or Screen Name.

4. Photos (since it’s not an "app" built for a specific phone, you can not upload photos yet):

a. View all photos.

b. View photos by member.

5. Forum:

a. Read all forum topics.

b. Reply to any forum topic (currently you can not add a new topic).

c. Search through all forum topics.

6. Dive Sites:

a. View all dive sites that have a photo (currently only showing one photo).

b. Search through all dive sites.

c. View map location of dive site (if exists).

d. Sort by Dive Site Name or ID #.

Keep in mind that this is a web application designed to work on most web enabled mobile phones. It’s not an iPhone or Droid application. As mobile phones open up more features to web applications, I will modify the site accordingly. One thing that we should see soon, is the ability to upload photos through web apps.

Please report all errors or suggestions to me. Indicate the type of phone and browser you are using.
