Another good option is Invicta. I’ve dove in one 100’+ many times and never had an issue. If you watch Amazon you can typically find a good one for $100-$200.

Why a watch? You can buy an Oceanic hocky puck computer which tells time probably for less $

With older eyes I had a hard time finding a watch easy to read and I looked at probably every watch out there. Allot of watches out there but it does me no good if I cannot read it easily! The Momentum M50 I have had for 7 years and the Citizen Eco Drive 2 month’s. Do not know which one I like better? Some days I like the extra features of the Citizen. Other times I like the simplicity of the Moritz Momentum M50.
With so many choices everyone will have a different opinion on there favorite.
Go with what you like all you need is to time the length of your dive and be able to read it underwater easily. Casio and Timex are cheaper if money is a problem then if you loose it diving you wont cry as much.

I have allways had a watch on every dive for back up if my computer goes goofy I have the tables and the watch and can still dive. If your only computer or dive timer messes up your dives are done for the day )-:

My first real dive I killed my Invicta. It was rated for 200m and I went to 25m and it cratered.

My dive buddy at the blue hole (NM) had a timex explorer and it was fine. he paid like $30. a lot of the real cheapies are not very legible and lack luminous features. On the other side I can’t really shell out $500 for a watch.
A couple i’ve been considering are:
Freestyle Hammerhead XL
and the regular hammerhead

@RockRat2008, what invicta do you have?

Here’s what I’ve been diving with for 2 years without a problem at all. It’s not fancy but it’s inexpensive, has been to 100’ and is darn near indestructable topside. I’m only on my third one in 25 years. (Of the other 2, my first one got broken in it’s 9th year by a careless jewelry tech while trying to replace the battery and my 2nd is very likely still keeping time somewhere at the bottom of the New River in WVA after the band snapped on a whitewater rafting trip.)

that’s what my dive instructor had ;) must be a winner. I like the rotating bezel though, do you think that is overrated?

Purely personal preference. I had a watch with a rotating bezel but kept forgetting to set it once I got in the water as I was busy with the rest of my gear, myself and getting ready to decend. With this one I just note the time I drop and then go. Plus the light is pretty good underwater in the dark. (better than my computer light)

My son gave me an Invicta. It flooded first dive out at 60ft.
I am very satisfied with my Seiko 007. Use it for everyday wear and as a backup for my Oceanic VT 4.0.

I dive with my Invicta Pro Diver. I have been to 100 ft. several times in salt and fresh. Never had a problem other than the band getting smelly if you don’t rinse it in water with a little bleach following a salt water dive. I guess it depends what day your watch came off of the assembly line. You know the Friday evening, in a hurry and forget to install the orings, or the Monday morning, got a hangover and pinched the orings because they couldn’t see stratight.
