What it means to me to be a Platinum Course Director

The rating of PADI Platinum Course Director is the highest award that PADI issues to its Course Directors. It’s not important to me how many candidates have come through the instructor development program I offer. What is far more important to me is that as a result of running a high quality PADI instructor development course, candidates place their trust and faith in me to be part of their journey to become a PADI Openwater Scuba Instructor.

I believe that the reason for the success of my IDC program is my passion and enthusiasm that I bring to the course every day. I love what I do and being part of my candidates’ success is the biggest thrill for me. Other reasons for the success of the #IDCwithKAI are that:

• The IDC program is twice the minimum duration as required by PADI guidelines.
• I offer an unparalleled instructor examination pass guarantee. I am so confident in the quality of the training that if a candidate was to fail the IE, I will pay for the second IE fees.
• Part of the course tuition fee goes to a marine conservation association. In the past we have adopted turtles in PNG, supported Tangaroa Blue, donated to PADI Project Aware and recently we have donated funds to assist locals in Indonesia who have lost everything during the Covid - 19 pandemic.
• An online marine life knowledge course was developed in conjunction with a marine biologist. This is a course that covers 14 modules of the marine life world and is included as part of the IDC with KAI
• The Nitrox Instructor Specialty rating, is included as part of the IDC program I offer to give the candidates a step up and make them stand out from the rest to be more employable.
• I have developed my own dive theory e-Learning platform which is available to all IDC candidates free of charge to get themselves better prepared for the IDC.

The recognition of being a PADI Platinum Course Director is very special to me as it is a recognition of all the hard work I have put into developing the #IDCwithKAI program and as a result having the privilege of working with so many talented and inspirational instructors.

A special thank you to the incredible team at PADI Asia Pacific for their ongoing help and support, the amazing team at Sunreef in Moololaba on the Sunshine Coast who have been so supportive and we are going to build something very special here and last but not least to my friends and family for believing in me.
