Catalina Dive - Private Charter - 3 Dives - Special price for Divebuddy members.
Hello Divebuddies. With such a great response (25 divers in 48 hours) I felt it was safe to put down the deposit today on our private Catalina charter for May 31st. The Great Escape is the biggest boat in town, and the last one available for that date. I didn’t want someone to grab it out from under us. Below are instructions how to RSVP your spot officially. Don’t wait! I am sending this e-mail to over 60 divebuddies today, and the trip will most likely sell out soon. Don’t worry about a last minute cancel or getting sick. I’m sure there will be a backup list. I have also listed below more details about the trip. NOTE - please e-mail me (richard.forster [ at ] sbcglobal.net) after you RSVP so I can keep a list and update the group as we get closer. Also, feel free to invite your friends. If they sign up, please let me know their name and e-mail address so I can include them in the updates, or have them e-mail me direct. I’m bringing the Divebuddy.com banner for a group photo. You don’t need to be a member of Divebuddy.com to join this trip. However, it’s because of that website that this group has grown so large and enabled us to get such a great deal on a dive trip of our very own. To RSVP call the Great Escape direct at (866)348-3262 and speak to Joy or Tim. Tell them "I am with the Divebuddy.com group on Sunday, May 31" You can use a credit card to reserve your spot. It will not be charged until the day of the dive. Again, there will no doubt be a waiting list in case you need to cancel last minute. Here are the official details: Dive Boat: Great Escape out of Long Beach (directions at www.diveboat.com) Date: Sunday, May 31 Cost: $100.00 for 3 dives + air fills + two meals + snacks + drinks # Divers: 35 max. Tanks & weights: NOT Included - you must bring your own Air Fills: High Pressure up to 3200 psi Breakfast will start serving at 6:00 AM (custom order omelets, etc.) Departure Time: 7:00 AM Lunch menu TBD (their food is always amazing) Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks served throughout the day Return Time: between 5:00 - 6:00 PM We are allowed to sleep on board the night before. You can board any time on Saturday after 6pm. Maybe go straight there after the Long Beach Scuba Show... Wake up to the smell of breakfast cooking. We are allowed to bring alcoholic drinks on the boat for consumption the night before, or after the last dive. Just be smart about it. Dive Sites: This is completely up to the group. I personally would like to start at White Rock/Quarry where the Blue Caverns lie at 40’ depth. The Captain also mentioned other spots such as Isthmus Reef, Bird Rock, Eagle Reef.....the list goes on and on. If you have a favorite spot be sure to mention it that morning. The Captain will make sure all three dive sites have depths appropriate to all diving levels. This should be a really fun trip. I can’t wait for the end of May!
