Here’s a good link to see the swell height in the channel and around Catalina.

Here’s another site to show you the swell forecast.

As far as the weather forecast for Catalina, I watch the local weatherman just like everyone else. And I believe they cannont predict when the sun will rise accurately. If it does rain it probably won’t be too hard. And who cares...you’re wet anyhow. The viz at Catalina will be good no matter what. The only thing that can really stop you would be if the ocean swell is too high keeping the Catalina Express at bay. Looks like no problem going out, with a slight possibility of problems getting back on Thursday. You should call The Cat.Express to ask them. The local dive shop does not run air fills at Casino Point mid week, so getting fills to do more than one dive could be difficult.

Good luck.

I always check NOAA buoys for the live water conditions just off the island.

I think the vis should be really good for you. I think the best time for Catalina is March/April.

Really want to and normally I could work remotely while diving. The conditions today were ideal today and it was killing me. Unfortunately, this week is Spring Break for my 4-1/2 year old from school, so I am stuck at home with her. I wish I had access to a free baby sitter...... Sorry.
