It means "triggerfish with a snout like a pig" It’s the namesake of the demi-god Kamapua’a. He was a shape-shifter who could turn from man to hog usually. While fleeing from Pele (they had a very rocky romance), he first turned into a hog and then leaped into the sea and turned into this adorable fish with a pig nose. :-)
