Yes the Grouper was closer to the camera. If memory serves the grouper was about 2 ft long and Gustav was quite a bit more than that. I believe I was about 3 to 4 foot behind the grouper and there as probably about the same distance between Gustav and the Grouper. The camera was a Sea and Sea rangefinder with I think about a 35mm lens. Having taken the picture the perspective difference did not occur to me, but that would make for a very large black grouper. That being said a 124 lb one was recently caught in Florida.

Is that diver actually back farther the the Grouper? I’ve seen photos of large Groupers but this seems to be a perspective issue.
