Smith Shoal
This dive would be extraordinary except that it generally has poor visibility. The depth of this site ranges from 20 to 40 feet and is marked by a 54-foot pyramidal skeletal steel tower built in 1933.
Smith Shoal is located 12 miles northwest of Key West. Plate, brain, and staghorn corals are near the sand bottom south of the tower. There are generally grouper and jewfish at this site.
