The Lake offers a great peek at the double reef system that stretches along this area.
Called the lake because this is where the outer reef circles around to meet the inner, leaving a large sand "lake" in the middle. The vis. has to be pretty good to see the "lake."
Many folks who dive here never realize that the best part of the dive is the outer part of the reef. It’s a little deeper and there’s a bit of a surface swim, but it’s well worth it. Just swim out over the reef and past the sand flats and descend over the outer reef. It’s about 65-80 feet deep out there. Look for eagle rays in the deep, huge stoplight parrotfish, loads of eels and tarpon.
Then swim over the flats back to the shallow reef to offgas and peek under rocks and into crevices.
