Martini Rock - United Arab Emirates

Loading...
Underwater rock with mooring line to sandy rock bottom at 12M. Top of rock around 3-5M depending on tides, good for a safety stop if you cannot relocate the mooring line. Deepest part is around 19M.

Rock is full of clefts and fissures with some various scattered larger rocks around the shallower area.

Lots of soft Dendronephthia corals as well as blue and green whip corals. Plenty of red tooth trigger fish, sergeant majors, schooling snapper and gill raker mackerel, total awesome if you do have good visibility. many scorpionfish and moray eels. Check out the bottom for Goby / Shrimp symbiosis and the occasional large pipe fish. There are usually several Broomtail Wrasse and they can be quite inquisitive, I have had one follow me around on more than one occasion. A few lion fish here too. Occasionally you might come across a turtle or ray.

Good site for a beginner
