Made it through my first day doing three dives yesterday. We got quite a few of the skills out of the way, but will be finishing up today.

I’m not sure I’m going to be into the shore diving that much. It’s a lot more physical labor than boat diving. I was exhausted with the four trips back and forth to the car just carrying gear and tanks to beach. Makes it less fun if you’re already tired and frustrated before you even get into the water lol.

Visibility wasn’t great, but I did get to see quite a variety of fish though I’m not sure what they all were. Took a few pictures with my cheap underwater camera. Will post some in a few days if any of them turn out.

King - 8/12/2009 1:54 PM Surprised they let you bring a camera. I don’t allow my students cameras as they tend to pay more attention to that than learning to dive properly.... Your fun is just beginning!!

timengle - 8/11/2009 2:44 PM Way to go! Once you get those last skills done you can begin the amazing life of a diver. I was so excited when I finished my OW. I don’t have a lot of dives, but I now have my AOW and many of those dives are beach dives. A lot of work, entering through the waves, especially here in Ca, but from what I am told, if I can beach dive in Ca, I should be good to go almost anywhere. Congratulations! Tim
