The 2008 DUI dry suit rally calendar is finally posted tentatively. For those of you who do not know anything about this rally, let me give you some brief info on the subject, it might be for you!

DUI hosts a non-sales related dry suit rally across the nation every year. This gives divers who hold an Open Water rating the opportunity to learn about, get fitted for, and take a test dive in a dry suit for a VERY minimal fee (less than $20).

Your fee covers lunch, a "test diver" hat, a raffle entry with each ticket, and as many dry suit dives as you have air for and can make within safe NDL limits for the day. It is an absolutely wonderful chance to learn about and dive a dry suit without a sales pitch.

What you need: an Open Water certification (yes, you will need to bring your card or temp card), a regulator set (they will install a dry suit inflator hose), a full air tank (you must provide the air), your BC and weights (they do have trim systems available, so ask if you want to try those), mask, fins, snorkel, and gloves (gloves are optional, but I suggest them if you will be in a colder location/date). Most of the suits I have used have had full foot legs and overshoes/rock boots so I did not need my booties, but you may want to bring them just in case.

Watch the DUI website as some of the dates can not be finalized until after January 1st (state parks mainly). Remember, DUI does not stand for Diving Under the Influence, so dive sober and dive safe!
