I was here on 7/3 along with Greg and Wickie. Greg’s info is all correct, very cold after around 20 feet. I pushed to 30, but the cold spun me around really quick. All that was missing was a hood, which was in the car, and I could have gone much further. We will go back at some point to explore this further. The clarity of the water gets fantastic the deeper you get, but by 20 feet or so you start to really lose the surface light. It was overcast and storming that day, so it’s hard to tell how much would penetrate on a sunny day. Bring a light, at least a 7 mil wet suit, or a dry suit, and a hood and gloves and you should be fine. It’s no colder than Dutch Springs I don’t believe. Nice dive location.

Good place to dive. Vis is better deeper you go. Only bad thing got stuck in a storm.

Dove two dives here. Lost my GoPro Hero 2 camera on dive 1 in muck getting situated. We looked for a while to no avail, did shallow diving near the boat ramp in the muck and started getting a little worried it wasn’t worth the trip. Spent about 30 min bottom time max depth of 15’. The rain came a pouring and we sat on the boat ramp for a bit in the pouring rain like a bunch of losers lol. There is a major noticeable thermocline. However second dive we went out and around the mouth the boat ramp is in and the clarity really opened up. I left with a pocket full of fishing lures. Chad found a sealed beer bottle that we had to taste test...lol. Deeper than 20’ is a sharp thermocline, possibly [50 degrees at 30’ as all 3 of us called off from deeper exploration due to not being prepared for that temperature. Surface temp was almost 90.
