It is well known that in the past years, the scuba diving industry in Thailand had grown significantly, which can be measured by the growing numbers of scuba divers and various diving businesses. Part of it is the country’s existing natural environment, specifically the beautiful seas. With its rich natural resources either at the Andaman Sea or the Gulf of Thailand, all of which reflect beautiful underwater sceneries that attract thousands of tourists who are scuba diving lovers to continuously travel to Thailand. The other reason is that the widespread popularity of scuba diving activities among Thais. However, while the scuba diving industry was growing steadily, and although the number of divers both Thai and foreigners increased, the political turmoil in the country and a severe downturn of the global economic conditions during the past few years, has negatively affected such growth. Businessmen and tourists have slowed down their diving trips to Thailand and instead relocate their itineraries to other destinations in Asia and Europe. Therefore, in order to restore the confidence and support Thai scuba diving industry to continue growing and to develop Thailand as an international center of comprehensive scuba diving industry, the N.C.C. Exhibition Organizer Co., Ltd with the support of the Tourism Authority of Thailand has organized "Thailand Dive Expo" (TDEX), at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. This event is our commitment to re-establish the objective of Thai diving business as "The Real Diving Hub of Asia" with the expecting outcome that this event will stimulate the business and return the scuba diving industry in Thailand back to its glorious day.
