DAN Diver Medical Technician (DMT) Course with optional AHA ACLS

OBJECTIVESDMT’s serve a critical role in the field of diving medicine. From
the provision of on-scene care to working as chamber operators and
inside attendants, their work is vital. In remote areas they may work
as physician extenders and perform mission essential healthcare to
divers.
CERTIFICATIONCourse is approved by and certifications issued through the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology.
PREREQUISITESMust have current EMT or higher.
SKILLS PERFORMANCEDiver Medical Technician (DMT) course covers the topics and skills necessary to be eligible for the DMT certification exam.
Some of the topics covered are:
- Dive Accident Management
- Clinical Application of Diving Physics and Physiology
- Medical Fitness to Dive
- Invasive and noninvasive clinical skills (airway, IV, medication admin, etc)
- Physical exams
- Patient challenges in hyperbaric medicine
- Two days of chamber operations
