One of the most common questions
non-divers ask divers is "Where is your favorite place to dive?" This is not an
easy question to answer. Most of us have one dive site for reefs, another for
wrecks or some other underwater environment. Animal interaction or just being in
a beautiful location might enter into our thought process. At the November NYUPS meeting, we ask you: Where is
you favorite dive spot? All guests will
be invited to share 8-10 images of their favorite dive site and share with the
group the stories that went into capturing the images. As with past events,
we’ll have an informal discussion on the images and all are welcomed.IMAGE SPECSThe ideal size of each landscape orientation image is
10” wide x 7.5” high – no larger. If an image is portrait, the image should be
no more than 7.5” high x whatever width (certainly less than 10”.)All images should be 72 DPI, or pixels per inch, and
.JPG files. If you would like to submit videos, please bring them to the meeting
as Quicktime files on a flash drive.In your email, on the
subject line please type in caps “NYUPS IMAGES: Favorite Dive Spots.” Please
email all your images to Larry Cohen at larry@liquidimagesuw.com and CC Matt
Weiss at Matt@DivePhotoGuide.com.


DATE OF SUBMISSIONThe deadline for
images is November 15th. You will receive a confirmation of the receipt of your
images. If you don’t, please contact Larry or Matt.



Please
note that you do not need to submit images to attend the meeting – feel free to
just come and enjoy the images, share and learn a little about improving your
photography techniques! We want to stress that our meetings are for
photographers of all levels. It doesn’t matter what camera you use or how long
you’ve been shooting, NYUPS wants to share the joys of underwater imaging with
everyone interested. We look forward to seeing your images at the B&H
