I hate to burst your bubble, but the reason everyone is cancelling is the pirate activity in the area. Liveaboards are especially vulnerable. My dive shop was planning its next big trip to Indo, but cancelled for that reason. If you’re really intent on going to Indo, you may want to look into land-based resorts that have great shore diving instead.

From jamsys: First, I am not a travel agent or operator, just a diver like all of you..
I am booked on this trip but they had 7 cancellations and I don’t want to see it canceled! I saw them at Our World Underwater in Chicago and hopped on the special as I always have wanted to dive Indo. I am also staying 7 days in Lembah for some Critter stuff as well.
If anyone is interested, here is the link:

PLEASE Check your geography before stating such things! Raja Ampat is NOT an area with pirate problems.
I believe you are referring to the MALAcca Staights, between Malaysia and Sumatra near Singapore which has had pirate problems for years.
Raja Ampat is in the MOLUccas 2,500 miles away!!!!!!

Have you dived this area yet? Everywhere else on the planet pales after diving there. Raja Ampat has BY FAR the most pristene and biodiverse reefs in the world. Ask any serious or professional underwater photographer. If you can go DO IT. Don’t miss out on this deal. Here’s what it looks like:
