I would go a little more south to Key Largo, super diving. Ocean Divers has a super deal going on from now until Aug 30. Three nights lodging at Marina Del Mar and four days diving, eight dives all boat dives for $485. They are very safe and know what they are doing as has been in business for over 35 years.
I live in Florida and have dived several places. You can do reef and wreck diving with them and if you like can do a night dive on Wednesday nights.

I’m with lars on this one, the closest United gets to the Key’s is Miami. Fly into Ft. Lauderdale, maybe stay with JupiterMermaid and dive with Jupiter Dive Center, she’s a DM there or Jim Abernathy’s scuba adventures in WPB and when I’m in SE Fl. I always do Blue Heron Bridge at least once.
If you do go to Key Largo Ocean Divers would be my first choice too, a little farther down a1a is Conch Republic.

I saw on Jupiter Dive Center’s website that they are leading a trip out of Key West on the M/V Spree to Dry Tortugas that first week of October if they are shuttling together from Jupiter to Key West, that would work for me. Would that be a better option that time of the year that diving right out of Florida? I guess what I’m asking is during early October where can I get the most bang for my bucks and best dives in the area if I will only be there 4-5 days.

The Spree is hard to beat when it comes to the most diving for your buck. Frank’s ship breifing is worth the price of admission alone! It’s cheaper to stay and eat on the Spree than stay on a land based op plus you are going to be diving about 4 times a day. No gear break down, they fill the tanks at your seat while you are off eating :) Just remember it’s not a private room, you will be in a bunk room, sometimes one of the rooms is all female but I wouldn’t count on it.
October should be the end of the tropical storms, I did go out on the Spree once with a storm in the gulf but the diving was still good :)

Well, I booked a flight. I’ll work out all of the details along the way, but I’m flying into West Palm Beach on Sept 27 through Oct 2. Probably just stay and dive out of Jupiter and along the coast there.
The Spree trip would have been awesome, I know, but I have a damn law conference to attend Oct 3 to 6. Tried to get out of it, but the Paycheck Gods said "no". :-/
Thanks for all the advice!!! I really appreciate it! Anybody want to join me for a dive? :-D
