How prepared are you for an emergency while scuba diving? Do you have a written emergency action plan with important information and procedures to follow during a scuba diving related accident? If so, briefly list the type of information included in your plan in the comment field below.

[Choose #1] Going through PADI Rescue Diver I wrote an EAP for a specific site. Currently as a PADI Dive Master Candidate I wrote an EAP for another site and in much more detail.

[Choose #2] Why? Dail 911/Check Vitals/Break out the O2 bottle/Speed dail DAN. Whats so hard to remember? After a few times you’ll get the hang of it.

[Choose #1] Extensive First Aid kit with Local Hospital #’s. Diving plan left with person not diving for emergencies away from my diving loaction.

[Choose #1] Includes: Letting someone know where/eta/etr; Ability to call 911 (Comms Plan-B as needed); DAN number in Logbook; My Parked Car has info inside. Plus the EDC Pack: First Aid Kit - MRE - Water - E-Blanket - Signal Whistle - Amatuer Radio.

[Choose #2] We always tell our dive shop where we’re going and what time approx we’ll be back. They’ll try call us if we’re not back at said time. We also tend to take a non-diver with us. (for shore dives)

[Choose #1] Yes. We do one for every trip. We have each diver in the group on the list, their DAN membership numbers and coverage info, emergency contacts and numbers and closest chamber info to the area we will be in. Each member gets a copy of the EAP.
