We are heading down to Mermet Springs for a weekend of diving in August. The trip would include hotel accommodations for 2 nights (double occupancy), 2 days entry into the park, and a tank rental if needed (extra air fills not included). Price is going to $135.00 per person for everything. We’ll be diving Saturday and Sunday, as well as night diving Saturday night.

If anyone is interested in going, please feel free to send me a message or let me know and I can reserve a place for you and book extra rooms if necessary, or answer any questions you might have. Have a great weekend!

Hey John,

I may be able to meet you up there and bring someone (or even a few people) with me. I’ll let you know, but I’ll make my own accommodations. I have dove there several times and can do it for less than $135/pp on my own.

Rockrat,

I agree; I have done it in years past for cheaper than this, but the last few times I took groups down there, we had issues with the accommodations. This year I opted for a little nicer hotel with better breakfast, so hopefully give the group from up here a little better overall experience.

Have a good one and hope to meet you down there.

Hi, John
I’ll probably contact you on Tuesday regarding the trip... Sounds great!

No worries, I completely understand the better overall trip experience and have paid more than I wanted for a few trips myself for the good of the group (haven’t we all though).

At this stage though unless it is a "special" trip for me it is all about the diving and other than that I need a pillow and a blanket for my downtime for the most part. LOL

Still have this one on the radar as a possibility and may be bringing a few folks with me as well that want to dive this great site for the first time.

John,

I see you have Pennyroyal on the schedule for September as well. That one is only about 1.5 hours from me and another of my favorite dive spots. I’ll plan on hooking up with you guys for that one as well. :-)

Took a buddy out there for a night dive about a month ago and had a great Saturday night dive. We were the only 2 in the water and had the quarry to ourselves. Visibility was amazing!

I am on for Penny Royal the weekend of 16-18th. They are having a dive there through my local shop.

John, I’ll be there around noon on Saturday and should have 2 others coming as well for a total of 3 from the Nashville area representing divebuddy. :-)

We’ll dive Saturday afternoon, make the night dive Saturday night as well, and be back for a couple of dives on Sunday before heading home.

Sounds good, Michael.

We’ll be getting down there through the day tomorrow and should be at the quarry early Saturday, do the night dive as long as the weather holds, then probably stay until after lunch Sunday as well.. I believe Glen has a pavilion reserved for us down by the water. If you want, I’ll tell him we have a few more people and put us down for two spots to give everyone a little more room.

Ours will have Aquatic Dreams Diving on the board. Look forward to meeting you all!

John,

All 3 of the people coming with me cancelled last night and I didn’t feel like making the drive alone so we won’t be up this weekend after all! :-(

Have fun and hopefully we can blow bubbles together another time.

Hey, Michael,

Sorry to hear that. It was a little dreary on Saturday and we dodged rain and some thunderstorms but still got a few dives in. Night diving just wasn’t in the cards for Saturday though. Came back Sunday morning and it was nice and sunny till after lunch and we dove a bit more.

Thanks, Oceanfloor, for joining us. It was a great weekend and loved diving with you and Rob. Looking forward to many dives together in the future.

Yeah, I got 4 dives in locally and was dealing with dodgy weather both Saturday and Sunday as well.

Glad you guys had a group trip and I’ve enjoyed looking at the photos.
