After you’ve had the privilege of training a new dive student, what methods do you use to keep in contact with them? Here are a few free tools you can use to maintain contact:

1. Invite all of your students to join DiveBuddy.com. You can email them an invitation using the "Refer a Friend" form found on the member home page. When they join, they will automatically be added to your buddy list.
2. Change the buddy type of your students to "Student"...that way you can send that group of buddies a unique message through DiveBuddy.com. When viewing a buddies profile, click "Edit Buddy", then look for the Buddy Type field.
3. Encourage new students to subscribe to your blog or calendar of events on DiveBuddy.com. Whenever you write a new blog article OR post an event to your calendar...you can choose to send an update to all subscribers.
4. Conduct a survey from time to time and send a bulk message to all past students asking them to participate in the survey. You can do both through DiveBuddy.com. Create a new survey, then send a link to that survey to all Students on your buddy list.

As always, if you have questions about the free services provided on DiveBuddy.com that allow you to keep in contact with your students, just let me know.

Sincerely,

Greg Davis

Since I got certified back in the mid 90’s, not once has my instructor or store asked my opinion on anything, nor have they asked me to participate in anything. The only time they had contacted me is to tell me that the equipment I purchased from them is due for service, which they no longer do.
