A very long time member of a DiveBuddy, Brion Sullivan (aka: GypsyDiver), was diagnosed with ALS. Please help him raise money for a "Walk to Defeat ALS": Donate Here

Research ALS and tell your friends about it. It’s the reason we are seeing all these ice bucket challenges lately.

Want to get together for a dive or drink sometime? I’m in Cedar Park also.
Greg - 9 days 3 hours ago.
Sure, I’m pretty busy usually...but I do need to get back in the water soon. Where do you normally dive?
chrpai - 9 days 3 hours ago.
Mostly Lake Travis Scuba - The Giant Stridge. Also Mansfield Dam and Volente Marina.
Greg - 9 days 1 hour ago.
How do you dive Volente Marina? I thought it is all private property around there?
chrpai - 9 days ago.
We used to just down to the end of the road. Now we just go to Highland Lakes Marine and pay $5 to the person sitting in the booth. To be honest it’s usually free because several people I know know people there and they get waived in. Kit up by the restroom at a picnic table and go down to the docs to enter near the old road.

Cool. Do you know of a pool I can use with my boys to get them some more training in? Are you usually free on weekends to dive? The next few weekends are booked for me but I’m sure we can plan something.
chrpai - 8 days 23 hours ago.
I know when DiveWorld was opened by Mike he’s open his pool up for $20. Otherwise I don’t have access to anything. My dad is in town this weekend, the weekend after I’m doing a wreck class and the weekend after that is lake travis cleanup weekend.
Greg - 8 days 10 hours ago.
Which group are you diving with during the lake travis cleanup?
chrpai - 8 days 6 hours ago.
I’m going out with Lake Travis Scuba for the cleanup.

Good luck on the rescue diver exams. The quizzes should help prepare you. That is a fun course to take.

How are you doing??
Greg - 29 days 8 hours ago.
Doing pretty well. Thanks for asking. We moved to the Austin TX area. Lots going on so we’re staying pretty busy.

Thinking of you, Greg, during this difficult time. My heart goes out to you.

Y do my photos upload sideways??? Thx
Greg - 5/04/2014 10:53 AM
Because your photos are sideways before you upload them. If you are using a mobile device, sometimes it’s hard to tell if your photos are sideways because you can just rotate your device.

Need help choosing between regs. Aqua lung legend lx or atomic b2. I’m new to diving and just see that your the most active member and seem really experienced. Where i live in Mississippi there are very few divers and one little dive shop. And just would like to pick your brain
Greg - 4/25/2014 2:55 PM
I am probably the most active member because I own DiveBuddy.com :) Post this question in our Forum so others can help answer. I don’t have experience with either one of those regs. Both are made by great companies though so I’m sure either one would be great.
Greg - 4/25/2014 2:57 PM
And btw, don’t publish questions in the Articles section...that’s a place for education articles and other stuff like blogs. For questions you want others to help answer, use the Forum section.

Sorry about that new to the site and it’s guidelines and thank you

At the end of the movie, Into The Blue, it says 6 billion dollars worth of treasure still exists in the ocean, waiting to be found. How do they know that? Is there some list of sunken ships and the loot they carried?
Progrower - 4/11/2014 6:00 PM
I think they base it on known wrecks and then add a little for unknown. I think that number is way low as with new technology we find wrecks with articfacts that I would consider worth at least that.
diver69420 - 4/25/2014 1:39 PM
ur absolutely right. i think that is based on wrecks as you said. And they throw in a little razzle dazzle. but how awesome is that
