St. Edwards Park - Bull Creek Swimming Hole is a shore accessible fresh water dive site, located at 7301 Spicewood Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78798. This dive site has an average rating of 4.00 out of 5 from 2 scuba divers. The maximum depth is under 5ft/2m. The average visibility is 11-15ft/3-5m.

St. Edwards Park is close to Cedar Park, Leander, Round Rock and Austin. It has never been crowded when I’ve been there. Bull Creek runs through the park, alongside steep rock cliffs, and creates many neat swimming holes with wonderful visibility. In certain spots, I could see a distance of 20 feet underwater. It’s too shallow to dive, around 5 feet at its deepest, but bring a mask and snorkel to check out the perch, sunfish, stripped bass and turtles. I saw one water snake that slithered away pretty quickly. The edges of the creek, in some spots, have some dead vegetation and tree limbs...but once you’re past that, the bottom is primarily rock/sand and easy to walk on. Bring water shoes!

There are nice trails throughout the park, many are small with plants over growing the edges. If you walk/swim along Bull Creek, in the water...you’ll get to spots that normal people never see. It’s quiet and shady just about everywhere in St. Edwards park. Dogs, Fishing and Mountain Biking is allowed.

Don’t be afraid to swim close to sunken trees or rocks with your scuba mask...that’s where all the fish hide! And yes, there are small waterfalls all along the creek.

Greg - 9/20/2014 9:02 AM Went here yesterday after it had rained 7 inches in 3 hours the day before. The creek looked more like a river with rapids! The water must have rose 5 feet above the normal level, as small trees were flattened along the trail near the creek. I also noticed dead fish along the trail. The damn was overflowing and some roads were not passable. The water was a very murky, like a light chocolate milk...zero visibility. Once the water subsides from the recent rain, and the sediment settles, this creek should be nice and full again with clear flowing water.
