Puerto Penasco/ Rocky Point is a boat accessible salt water dive site, located in Mexico. This dive site has an average rating of 3.60 out of 5 from 5 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 51-60ft/16-18m. The average visibility is 41-50ft/12-15m. This dive site provides bathrooms and airfills.

ShoreDiving.com list 3 shore entry dives here, Rocky Point, Pinto Point and behind Casa Del Captian restaurant however the landmarks given don’t seem to exist anymore :( It would be nice if someone who has been here could add the locations to this map.

If you like diving with Sea Lions Bird Island (out of Rocky Point(Puerto Penasco)) offers a huge population of them. Many times they seem to be swimming around like a fish bait ball. The best and only real dive shop in town is Sun and Fun / Aquatic Adventures they operate their own dive boat Serenas De La Noches. It’s a comfortable well run boat that seems continually being renovated for diving improvement. For Arizona divers that plan on making use of it’s services regularly you can get discounts on trip by joining AZ-DiveBuddies Scuba Divers Club in Mesa. If you take 5 trips a year you’ll make back the membership fee without even using the other club programs which are all designed to save divers money. It’s a great club which can actually save an active member diver many times the club fees each year. Club Members also get key-man pricing on gear purchases at Aquatic Adventures by showing their valid membership ID. (also needed for boat discounts) At only 3 hour away from the Phoenix area this is a the quickest saltwater dive trip available to the majority of AZ divers.

A great quick Saltwater get away for Arizona Divers. The town has some great beach side resorts and in town is great for souvenir shopping and partying nights. Weather does impact the quality of diving and the harbor closes due to weather conditions and limited depth so backup plans should be considered. Sometimes weather that closes the harbor still allows shore entry from certain sites and other times the safest judgment is to just play tourist on dry land.

boat dives are fun but over priced

beach entry is tricky for novice, take a local expierienced diver with you till you learn the underwater topo, & how to read the ocean/ tides, full moon is even worse

this is our closest ocean, so learn it, respect MOTHER OCEAN, she’ll bite your but steal your gear & spit you onto the rocks ... IF YOUR LUCKY

This place has severe tidal exchange, i like diving it between both moons
