Stairs and/or ramps down to the beach. Sand entry.
Park at the Albertsons and don’t waste the time trying to park in the underground parking on the beach side.
Bring a cart to haul the gear. Makes it a lot easier. Drop off the gear and someone to watch it, then park across the street in the Albertson’s parking lot for free parking.
Great food in the same parking lot, along with decent beers.
On Saturday 6-22-2013, I cancelled our plans because nearly all of the dive reports I read reported viz less than 10 feet. It was a tough choice for me to cancel. On Friday I received some more dive reports saying "Good choice, viz sucked" in different spots around Laguna. I read a couple of dive reports from Laguna on Saturday, even Crescent Bay was washed out, 4-5 feet of surf, even with decent breaks between sets, the viz was just 5-10 feet. I would think with more than 3 feet of surf the viz would suck, hence why we usually don’t go in if the surf is over 3 feet. My experience is that when surf is like that, the viz is always "Not good", so we don’t dive when the surf is up, it is just "Not worth it" for us. But as I always say, we all need to make our own decisions and figure it on our own too.
