Part of my job is to run, trek, dive, climb, jump, sit still, observe and ask questions. I’m a professional photographer who has a passion for human interest and landscapes.

Diving is a form of relaxation for me. 45 mins of silence and nothing negative coming from anyones mouth is pure bliss.

The Philippines is home to one of the most biodiverse marine environments in the world. Check out our dive in Mactan, Cebu. This was once a ’dead’ marine environment but areas have been declared sanctuaries and slowly flourishing.

I heard a lot about the sardine run at Moalboal and it seemed like a perfect 100th dive for me. Little is known about sardine runs, but their activity is fascinating. Cebu Pacific and Air Asia has daily flights to Mactan. The flights were reasonable so I booked myself a round trip over the long weekend.

The dive buddies and I stayed at Love’s Resort. It’s cheap and both the bathrooms and rooms are clean and spacious, showers have hot water and there was air conditioning. Food is okay and the staff is very helpful. My buddy was very impressed with the dive shop manager for knowing what a ’din’ valve is. She knew her tech dive stuff and the facilities suited the needs of those who dive side mount.
The winds were strong, the rain was pouring and we were exhausted from the 2-hour flight from Manila and 3-hour road travel. We all decided that we would dive tomorrow instead. The DM said we should start early at 830 a.m. We slept comfortably and I prayed that the long travel would be worth it.
