Thanks for the add Frank. I have dived the wrecks you are talking about. Vis can be challenging due to lack of relief off the bottom. You know how the murk line is in our area of the Gulf.

I have been diving and spearfishing under oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico since I was 12. In the last year, I have developed an interest in Shipwrecks off the coast of Louisiana. This past summer, located a wreck south of Bell Pass in about 100 feet of water. A fishing buddy gave me the coordinates. It appears to be a sunken oilrig, although some parts of it appear to be parts of a boat or ship. I did some research and found that a ship collided with a production platform, both sank, in 1961 in that general area, I’m not sure if that is the same wreck. After thinking about it and discussing it with my dive buddies, I believe it’s probably just a sunken oil rig. About a million red snapper are on this wreck and a Huge Goliath Grouper was hanging out at the bottom, it was a great dive.
I plan on returning to that site. I also plan to dive the RJ Gallagher,a tanker sunk on July 13th 1942 by a German U Boat and the RM Parker Jr, another tanker sunk by a U boat on August 13th 1942. Sidescan sonar show both of the wrecks are pretty much in tact. There is a Youtube video of the RJ Gallagher, looks like a great dive.

I have a 30 foot Gravois Aluminum Catamaran set up for diving. I am looking for dive buddies to share expenses on trips to wrecks and rigs off of Bell Pass Louisiana. Also possibly dive buddies for travel.
I’m planning a trip to Truck Lagoon mid 2015, haven’t set a date yet.
Other places I have had great dives are Grand Cayman, Ambergris Caye Belize, Mexico, Jamaica, Mayreau Gardens, various places off of Florida and Mississippi.
