I have always wanted to dive. Every time I thought about it something either came up or I would end up not doing it for one reason or another. I found out a couple of months ago that I was going to Okinawa for 6 months and that the diving down there was amazing. After talking to my wife we decided to go ahead and do it. She never thought that it would open up a can of worms that would require a bunch of money... Oh well!

I became Open Water Certified on 24 February 2013 through Scuba Diving International (SDI)

I’m planning on taking the Advanced class and Hydrox class in a few weeks to expand my skills.

BC & regs are on the way. Dive computer and knife as well as the personal gear is already here.

Looking forward to a dive by months end.

Great dive today in the U-352. The only thing that would of made the dive better is if the huge school of fish that was around the sub would of left. You could not tell there was a wreck there.
At the Indra the visibility was horrible and made the dive not too enjoyable. Next time.

Visibility at the quarry today was horrible. But I did do my last 3 dives to get my Advanced Adventure Diver Certification.
Yesterday was a lot better out at the Indra and Suloide. Those are 2 wrecks I definitely want to visit again. I would like to really explore the Suloide further since it is so spread (reel required).
Plans for the week are to get Nitrox Certified on Wednesday, if I can get out of work, and hopefully a deep dive or two.... Would be great to do that dive on Nitrox.

There were a few fish here and there within our visibility limitations though, lol! And you have to admit how lovely that bright green flora was down there!

Paid for my Advanced Open Water class yesterday and have the books. Now I have to decide what specialties I want to do.

How about search and recovery diver and deep diver. They sound fun and challenging to me and then of course you can get Nitrox certified.

I’m doing Deep, Navigation, Advanced Boyancy, Marine Ecosystem and Wreck. I was going to to for Drift, but I was informed that it could be difficult to do if we couldn’t find a good current. Maybe at another time. Definetly want to get my Deep Diver Cert. As far as Nitrox, that’s on my todo list.

And the most important part is just go diving. Work on your skills and your check dives will be easier. The classroom is great but nothing can take the place of good expierince you get from just DIVING!

There’s no classroom time for this, its all in the water. I’m doing 5 dives this weekend. I’m excited to try out my new gear

New tattoo and a small det to Michigan is going to keep me out of the water for at least 2 weeks. Maybe when I get back I can go for my first non check dive. Also, have to go by the dive shop and sign up for my Advanced class. My new gear will be waiting for me when I get home and I get to put it together.
