Most of my diving has been in Florida and the Caribbean, with my most recent diving being in Grenada.

My favorite islands are

Curaçao (beautiful, eclectic, amazing beaches, tons of excellent shore diving, and wonderful people),

Dominica (more for the island than the diving — which was very interesting — including my first sighting of a frogfish — but somewhat limited)

St. Maarten/St. Martin, my very first trip to the Caribbean. Wonderful island, half French, half Dutch, excellent beaches, diving was limited.

Saba — the people! what kind, generous, helpful folks. Diving was incredible, as well. My son, who’d been diving for a couple of years (at age 15 or so), was so excited about the prospect of seeing a shark (He’d been glued to ’Shark Week’ for at least 2-3 years by then), but when it came right down to it, he just wasn’t able to make the dive. When we reported back our sightings, he miraculously was able to make the 2nd dive with NO problems, whatsoever. And what an exciting flight from St. Maarten! (We returned by fast ferry).
