Hey I was thinking could you dive on Sunday the 8th I want to test my equipment before I do charters I would like to go to the jetties or if you have a suggestion that’s would be cool with me the tide will be at high tide at 12 noon that day the reason is all my gear is brand new and want to just go easy at first and if everything is good go deeper if not I totally understand I’ll just go up to the vortex and test my stuff or if you know someone that might be able could you ask them to get ahold of me my email is kertmccarty@yahoo.com I appreciate all your help and Thank You for your time

in the springs i wear a 2-3 mm shorty, but i am a big guy and have a fair amount of insulation.. lol, most people wear 3to 5 mm full suits for the springs. some wear hoods some dont. i wear gloves but they are fairly thing more for protection. booties the same.. it takes a few minutes for me to get my face acclimated to the water in the sprnigs. for the jetties and the time frame your coming in a shorty will be fine, the surface will be warmer but as you descend you will hit the thermocline. Currently the jetties are about 70-73 at 40ft depth. offshore it is slighty cooler right now. the first week of may will be better when your here and i would guess the water off shore will be in the mid 70’s and the jetties will be in the high 70’s at depth
